The Ideal Home Show 2017: 24th March – 9th April 2017, Olympia, London.
It’s nearly that time of year again when the Ideal Home Show at Olympia opens its doors from 24th March to 9th April to thousands of visiting homeowners looking for inspiration for transforming their homes and gardens.
The UK largest consumer home event, which has been running now for more than a century, offers ideas and discounts from hundreds of exhibitors on home improvements, interior design, furnishings, home technology, housewares, garden improvements, excellent food and fashion, and beauty.
So, what can you expect from this year’s event?
Ideal Home Show 2017 Highlights:
New for 2017
This year sees the introduction of two new theatres sponsored by Zoopla. These are the Ideal Home Show Theatre, aimed at DIY enthusiasts, covering home renovation and improvements, and the Interior Styling Stage where the focus will be on the latest trends in such areas as décor, upcycling and storage.
The Pamper Lounge is another new addition to the Style section of the show. Organised in association with the London College of Beauty Therapy, visitors can take advantage of some free pampering sessions which include hair, makeup, manicures, and massage.
The 17-day event boasts an all-star line-up to entertain and inform visitors looking for ways to create and run their ideal home.
Amongst the many big names appearing at this year’s show are author and TV presenter Katie Piper, Amazing Spaces presenter George Clark, interior design advisor and broadcaster Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, BBC1’s ‘Cowboy Trap’ presenter Clive Holland, and Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis OBE.

The competitions for 2017 include Young Gardener of the Year, in association with TV Gardener David Domoney and the Prince’s Foundation for Building and Community, and the Ideal Wallpaper Designer of the Year. There are also plenty of opportunities for visitors to win prizes and vouchers.
Always a highlight, the show homes will be opening for viewing throughout the event.
Visitors can take a look at the property ladder apartments show homes that reflect three life stages: new family home, first-time buyer and downsizing home. Another fascinating home to view is the revolutionary and minimalistic rotating homes. As seen on Channel 4’s Amazing space, which offers four rooms in one. Also on show is the 21st Century cottage which, as the name suggests, is a modern take on the traditional cottage.
Ideal Room Sets
This year Good Homes Magazine will showcase six inspiring room sets to wow and inspire visitors looking for ideas for every corner of their homes inside and out. The displays will cover kitchen, dining room, bedroom, bathroom and a multi-purpose indoor-outdoor room.
Ideal Show Gardens
If you are looking for gardening inspiration, then this is the place for you. The Ideal Show Gardens, sponsored by Britelite Windows, have been created by the contestants for the Young Gardeners of the Year with a brief to create sustainable urban gardens.
Get your comfortable shoes on because this spring at the Ideal Home Show you’ll find hundreds of exhibitors for kitchens, bathroom, bedrooms, basements, fixtures and fittings, gardens, gadgets, beauty, and fashion all under one roof.

This show is huge, and there will be some great discounts on offer, so you need to get organised. Without planning it can feel a bit daunting when you walk through the doors, and it’s hard to know where to start. Here are some tips to get the best value for your tickets and time:
- Plan your visit using the timetable provided on the website this way you won’t miss any of your favourite celebrities on stage and will still get to cover the exhibitors that you want to see.
